Daryl Griffith
Daryl is an award-winning composer, conductor and orchestrator who has conducted thousands of session recordings worldwide, including at Abbey Road and Air Lyndhurst in London, and the Synchron Stage in Vienna.
Daryl conducts a wide variety of projects such as Amazon’s Rings of Power and Reacher, Marvel’s Moon Knight and Hawkeye, Disney+’s Diary of Wimpy Kid, and games including Call of Duty Mobile and Palia.
He also conducted and orchestrated Christina Aguilera’s 2020 version of “Reflection” for Disney’s feature film, Mulan, and has done similar work for bands such as McFly.
Additionally, as a prolific composer and producer of library music, Daryl regularly conducts sessions for tracks which have appeared on places as diverse as Star Wars trailers, NFL programs, US presidential campaigns, Yellowjackets, Saturday Night Live, The Apprentice, along with adverts for Smirnoff, Maserati and Microsoft.
Other notable achievements include being awarded the Hecht and Alchin prize for Composition & the First Silver Medal for his LGSM Diploma recital, being Music Director and Principal Conductor for London City Ballet, serving as Conductor and Principal Pianist with English National Ballet, orchestrating Prokofieff’s Cinderella for Matthew Bourne in London’s West End & Los Angeles' Ahmenson Theater, and providing orchestrations for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, as well as a number of BAFTA winning & nominated projects.
Previously composing for EMI/Sony ATV, he is now co-owner and creative director of high-end production music catalogue 2nd Foundation Music, as well as the owner of Maestro Music UK, a music production company specialising in music for film, television, video games and theatre.
Daryl is an experienced educator who began teaching others at the tender age of 14. From there, he went on to teach Theory and Aural Training at Kent Junior Music School before taking a full-time post at Thurrock Technical College as a lecturer in music. In addition to instructing pupils privately in violin, piano, composition and conducting, he also spent four years as a professor at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He is frequently asked by former pupils to teach their own children, and some enjoyed their experience so much, they have now become his colleagues.
